My name is Leticia Gutierrez, and I am the new District Associate for the Allegheny Highlands Council. My background is in child development and previously had a career as a case manager for the past ten years. Through my education and career, I have had the opportunity to work with children of all ages and have learned that when parents work with their children in their activities and education, children seem to learn and enjoy it more.  I have four children of my own ranging from ages 10 to 18 and have had the opportunity to use my education to help me be a better parent by trying to understand their development.  I have learned from all the children I have worked with that all they need is love and attention.  I am the eldest of four children from loving parents that migrated from Mexico back in 1978. I am grateful that my parents were able to give us such great opportunities.  My siblings and I have a great education and careers due to my parents sacrifices.  My dad worked for the same company for over 35 years and he showed me the importance of being hard working.  My husband and I work hard to show our kids the same values our parents showed us.  Family is important.  Providing our children with all the leadership and having the patience to show them the right path has always being our priority.
